DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join us for the October 12, 2017, meeting of the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council. \n \nThe main meeting will be held at the Great Hall, 5121 Bay City Road, Midland, Michigan.  There is a satellite location available at Isabella Bank, 139 E. Broadway, Mt. Pleasant, MI.  Lunch will be served at noon, with the program beginning at 12:30 and concluding at 1:30 p.m.\n \nOur speaker is Daniel R. Finn, JD, CLU.  Mr. Finn is Director of Northwestern Mutual’s Advanced Planning Division.  His program is titled:  "Skinning the Cat:  The Many Options for Arranging Life Insurance Policy Ownership in a Cross-Purchase."  He will cover Buy-Sell Agreements funded with life insurance.  He will focus on cross-purchase agreements and the many ways that parties can arrange policy ownership and beneficiary designations (from cross-ownership, to owning on oneself, to trust ownership).  He will discuss the estate tax and income tax issues involved, as well as the various pros and cons of each option.\n \n \n
